A LIMITED NUMBER OF DETECTOR AND DRYWASHER RENTALS & DEMO UNITS WILL BE AVAILABLE - you must reserve in advance. Additional rental fees and deposit on equipment will be required. Rental Fees can be applied to purchase of new equipment.

Detector class: (details subject to change): Usually half of this workshop is conducted in a classroom-type setting with slides, other illustrations, and demonstrations to heighten your understanding of how and where to prospect for gold with a metal detector. The other half is conducted at a nearby desert location known to have yielded numerous nuggets to detectorists. The field section often will include a test area with known targets at known depths, so that you can see how your detector performs in these situations and also an area with planted targets, including coins, and a few real gold nuggets which you can keep if you find them. The field section will sharpen your hands-on detecting skills. If you own a gold prospecting detector, bring it with you to the workshop. If you do not own a prospecting detector but would like to learn what electronic prospecting is all about, or if you are thinking about purchasing a detector and want an excellent opportunity to compare the various detectors listed above, then this workshop is for you. |
